MicroStrategy and its founder Michael Saylor reach $40 million settlement to end tax evasion lawsuit

Odaily News The attorney general for the District of Columbia has reached a $40 million tax fraud settlement with billionaire bitcoin investor Michael Saylor and the software company he founded, MicroStrategy, in what is reportedly the largest income tax fraud recovery in the District’s history, according to Lauren Hirsch of DealBook. It’s also the first lawsuit under the District’s revised False Claims Act, which encourages whistleblowers to bring tax evasion charges against residents who allegedly concealed their actual place of residence.
