Jesse Pollak launches research organization The Based Institute to focus on Base ecological culture

Odaily News Jesse Pollak, head of the Base protocol, announced the launch of the research institute The Based Institute (basedinstitute.eth), which will study "What It Means To Be Based", including the origin of the word "based", The Base God, and other early cultures on Base. As part of its mission, The Based Institute has begun distributing ETH and TYBG tokens for free to any "based person" in the world, including early and active users of Farcaster. To date, more than 6,000 recipients have joined the Base economic system. In the coming months, as the understanding of "What It Means to Be Based" deepens and ways to responsibly bring more people onto the chain are further explored, distribution eligibility is expected to expand further. In addition, it has launched a Grants program to listen to community insights. The Based Institute is an independent research institute with no affiliation with Coinbase or Base. It is funded and led by Jesse Pollak in his personal name, which is different from his responsibilities in the Base core team.
