Wall Street Journal: Do Kwon may be extradited to the United States

Odaily News Montenegro’s top judicial official has privately said he plans to send Do Kwon to the United States rather than face criminal charges in South Korea, according to people familiar with the matter. Do Kwon has been imprisoned in the Balkans since March. The United States and South Korea are both seeking his extradition. Prosecutors in both countries want to put Kwon on trial on charges of fraud and violating securities laws. A Montenegrin court last month approved Do Kwons trial. Extradition, but it will be up to Justice Minister Andrej Milovic to decide whether to send him to the United States or South Korea. Milovic has yet to announce his decision and is unlikely to do so before the countrys courts rule on a last-ditch appeal by Quan against the court ruling. (WSJ)
