BitMEX co-founder Samuel Reed pleads guilty to violating bank secrecy laws and agrees to pay $10 million fine

Odaily News BitMEX co-founder Samuel Reed admitted today that he violated the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) by failing to establish, implement and maintain anti-money laundering (AML) procedures on BitMEX. He agreed to pay a separate criminal fine of $10 million, which represents the financial proceeds of crime, under the plea agreement. The other two founders of BitMEX, Arthur Hayes and Benjamin Delo, pleaded guilty to the same crime in February 2022.
