Odaily News According to a statement, the U.S. House of Representatives Financial Services Digital Assets, Financial Technology and Inclusion Subcommittee will hold a Digital Dollar Dilemma hearing on September 14 to discuss the impact of issuance of CBDC and private sector alternatives. In about two weeks, US SEC Gary Gensler will testify before the full committee. The hearing will be the first time in months that a House committee has discussed issues related to the launch of a digital dollar in the United States. The U.S. Congress previously adjourned in August. Some U.S. lawmakers have proposed different methods to solve CBDC-related issues, including limiting the Federal Reserve’s power to issue digital dollars; several U.S. states, including Florida, have also passed bills banning CBDC as a payment option.
