Immutable zkEVM testnet is now live, with mainnet expected to launch in the fourth quarter.
2023-08-15 00:48
Odaily News - Web3 game developer platform Immutable has launched the Immutable zkEVM testnet. Existing smart contracts and Solidity code can be seamlessly migrated to Immutable's zkEVM testnet environment for free.

In this testnet, MATIC will be used as the sole staking token, and Test-IMX will be used as the sole native gas token. While Immutable zkEVM currently leverages Polygon Edge, there are plans to deploy Polygon Zero in future versions.

Immutable plans to continue improving the testnet experience while pushing for the mainnet release, with the Immutable zkEVM mainnet set to launch in the fourth quarter of this year.

According to Immutable, over 20 game companies have partnered with them to support this release, including GameStop, TokenTrove Marketplace, game publisher Kongregate, and game designer iLogos, among others.

At least 12 games have already started building their Web3 games on zkEVM, including CoinArcade, Galaxy Commanders, Medieval Empires, MetalCore, Meta Toy, DragonZ SAGA, Rune Realms, Shardbound, Infinite Victory, EF Defense, and SimWin Football. MetalCore has announced that they will release a beta version on Immutable zkEVM on September 15th. (Cointelegraph)
