AKB48 godfather Yasushi Akimoto launches Web3 girl group and completes token issuance.

Odaily News - Known as the producer of popular Japanese girl groups like AKB48 and Sakamichi Series, Yasushi Akimoto recently launched a new Web3 girl group project called "Idol 3.0 Project." The project, which started in March, has selected 114 members from 10,000 aspiring girls. These 114 members will undergo various training and auditions, and by the end of the year, 9 to 11 members will debut as a new girl group.
The innovation of the Idol 3.0 Project lies in the utilization of Web3 technology to expand the activities of idols. This includes activities in the metaverse and the development of NFTs, as well as the integration with the Japanese girl group token, Nippon Idol Token (NIDT).
The total supply of NIDT tokens is 1 billion, with an initial IEO issuance of 300 million. The IEO was conducted in April with the assistance of Coinbook and DMM Bitcoin, but the listing date on exchanges has not been announced yet. (BlockTempo)
