Conflux v2.3.0 Hard Fork Announcement: All nodes need to upgrade before Epoch number reaches 79050000.
2023-08-08 15:24
Odaily News: Conflux has announced the release of the v2.3.0 hard fork upgrade. All nodes are required to upgrade before reaching Epoch number 79050000 (expected on September 7th). The main features included in this hard fork upgrade are as follows:

1. CIP-112 will be enabled when Epoch number 79050000 is reached.

2. CIP-107 (introducing storage points, a mechanism for destroying collateral), CIP-118, and CIP-119 will be enabled when the number of blocks reaches 188900000 (expected on September 9th).

3. CIP-113 will be enabled when the number of PoS blocks reaches 766200 (expected on September 9th).

This upgrade will bring the following improvements:

- Fixes a performance issue where certain requests never expire.

- Adds metrics for filters and pubsub API.

- Refactors EVM code for improved readability.

Conflux reminds users to upgrade their nodes before reaching Epoch number 79050000. Otherwise, they will be incompatible with the upgraded Conflux protocol and unable to interact with the latest Conflux mainnet as expected (functions such as block synchronization and mining may be disabled).

If nodes are upgraded after reaching Epoch number 79050000, all data needs to be deleted, and a full resynchronization from scratch is required. To start a new node, you can download the latest Conflux v2.3.0 and run it directly.
