Odaily News: On Thursday, Yuga Labs conducted a Otherside scenario demonstration, inviting 40 "Voyagers" to a studio in Los Angeles to showcase the vast new spaces in their metaverse. This event was specifically tailored for BAYC holders and featured snacks and products from community members who have utilized the IP of their NFT characters in their businesses.
While not an official "Trip," selected BAYC holders traversed a massive island constructed for the purpose of the demonstration and provided real-time feedback to Yuga Labs.
Michael Figge, Chief Creative Officer at Yuga Labs, stated that this approximately 2.4 square kilometer digital island is designed as a virtual club for the BAYC community and showcases the potential use cases of Otherside for other communities looking to integrate into Web3.
Although Otherside still does not have an official public release date, Figge mentioned that the team is eager to provide a lasting space for holders "as soon as possible."
Since the initial announcement of Otherside by Yuga Labs last year, the Web3 company has been focused on building this project. Since its launch in April 2022, the NFT series Otherdeed associated with Otherside has seen trading volume exceed 609,073 ETH (approximately $1.1 billion).
Earlier this month, Daniel Alegre, CEO of the company, informed Axios that they plan to offer more "short-term experiences" before the full launch of Otherside as an immersive and buildable virtual world to ensure users do not feel uncertain about progress a year from now. (CoinDesk)
