CFTC announces new appointment for Digital Assets Committee: Goldman Sachs executive appointed as chairman, executives from New York Mellon Bank and Franklin Templeton appointed as co-chairmen.

According to an announcement from the U.S. CFTC on Friday, its official, Caroline Pham, announced new members and leadership for GMAC and its Global Markets Advisory Committee, Technology Advisory Committee, and Digital Assets Market Subcommittee. Currently, there are a total of 128 members in the GMAC group and related subcommittees.
According to the announcement, Amy Hong from Goldman Sachs will serve as the chair of the committee. Caroline Butler, the Global Head of Digital Assets at BNY Mellon, will co-chair the Digital Assets Market Subcommittee alongside Sandy Kaul from Franklin Templeton.
Nadine Chakar, CEO of Securrency, and Kevin Kennedy from Nasdaq have also joined the ranks. Chakar previously served as the Head of Cryptocurrency at Deutsche Bank for over a year.
Other members of the Digital Assets Market Subcommittee include executives from companies like Coinfund, Crypto.com, and Uniswap. There are also representatives from Wall Street, including asset management company BlackRock, trading firm DRW, and Goldman Sachs.
The establishment of GMAC aims to assist regulatory bodies in analyzing issues related to the U.S. capital markets and to provide recommendations on policies related to financial instruments such as derivatives, as well as exchanges and brokerage firms, among others. (The Block)
