The first privacy computing event in China has concluded, blockchain and privacy collide, and the value of data flow can be expected in the future
On July 5, the first private computing industry forum in China ["Privacy Computing: Let Data Flow Safely and Orderly" and 2020 Top 30 Privacy Computing Industry List Award Ceremony] made a strong debut at Hangzhou Blockchain International Week. The event brought together representatives and experts from top mainstream institutions in AI, blockchain, big data, Internet of Things and many other technical fields, focusing on important topics such as "cryptography", "multi-party secure computing", "security" and "federated learning" How to reconstruct data value and share data dividend under integration.

1 The first private computing professional forum opens
The forum was jointly organized by Computing Power Think Tank and Babbitt, Shanghai Artificial Intelligence Development Alliance, Yangtze River Delta Big Data Industry Cooperation Joint Conference, Shanghai Modern Service Industry Federation Financial Technology Committee, SlowMist Technology, Yunxiang Blockchain, Tongdun Co-organized by institutions such as China Science and Technology, Nuowei Information Technology, and New Fortune. The forum has brought together domestic and foreign major companies, financial institutions, and technology companies that have been dedicated to the field of private data and secure computing in recent years. Top 30 List of Privacy Computing Industry.

Wang Lei, CEO of Babbitt, and Yan Li, founder of Hashpower Think Tank, delivered speeches
The forum invited Sun Shaoke, deputy director of Hainan Provincial Big Data Administration, to give an opening speech. Hainan Province has become the topic center of the data industry due to the recently released "Hainan Free Trade Port Construction Overall Plan". The "Plan" has made a series of institutional arrangements around six aspects of freedom and convenience. On the premise of ensuring the safety and controllability of data flow, expand the opening of the data field.
This is another important instruction on data openness and sharing at the national level after the central government announced that data will be incorporated into production factors within half a year. Privacy computing has become the demand of the times.

Liu Shiping, chief scientist, professor, and doctoral supervisor of the Financial Technology Center of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, echoed the necessity of privacy computing from the perspective of personal privacy and privacy protection in the era of big data. He said that the lag of the current legal system is manifested in many aspects such as the uncertainty of the qualifications of the collection subject, unclear data ownership, unlimited use of data, imperfect industry standards, unclear management responsibilities, and insufficient law enforcement supervision.
Liu Shiping proposed to strengthen privacy protection from the four levels of law, technology, management, and cognition. Among them, blockchain and big data technology provide new opportunities for information security from prevention, source identification, and security countermeasures.

Xie Hongjun, COO of Matrix Element, summed up the pain points in the data transaction process: 1. Personal data and corporate data are restricted by laws and regulations, and will not be directly used for plaintext transactions; Clear text transactions; 3. Cross-enterprise systems, identities, etc. cannot be connected; 4. After the clear text data is traded, the value of the data cannot be preserved.
Xie Hongjun said that with the support of privacy computing, existing data pain points can be alleviated or even resolved and bring about a new data transaction model: 1. Data collaboration under the premise of full compliance; 2. Data can be realized as assets , while no longer leaking plaintext information and protecting corporate assets; 3. Connecting different companies through the standard middleware of blockchain and global cross-domain identity; 4. The more data is used, the higher the value.

Xu Wei concluded that privacy computing technology is currently the most realistic technical solution to realize "data is available but not visible", thereby realizing "specific use rights of transaction data". It solves the problem of data privacy protection from a technical point of view.

3 When privacy meets blockchain, what is the future?
Although data has been listed as one of the factors of production, it is still too early to realize its commercial value. Meng Yan pointed out that the right to control and benefit from data has not really returned to the data producer himself. At the same time, because the cost of copying data is close to zero, there is no proof of ownership, so ownership and use rights cannot be separated, making it difficult to price. Confirmation of data rights through blockchain technology and protection of data with privacy computing will be important technical means for the implementation of data production elements, so blockchain and privacy computing will surely come to the fore.

Zhang Kaixiang, chief blockchain architect of WeBank, said that the pain point in the process of building a blockchain is privacy protection, which is also the ultimate goal of technology. Professor Chen Jianhai, head of Yunxiang-Zhejiang University Blockchain Joint Laboratory, also mentioned that Yunxiang also used a lot of encryption technology when building its own blockchain underlying platform, especially the main direction of Yunxiang's financial field. The need for privacy protection is highest.
Li Hongyu, chief expert of deep learning at Tongdun Technology Research Institute of Artificial Intelligence, pointed out that many companies in our country have their own data, and the value of their data has not been truly released. How can we maximize the value of the stock data in these companies or government agencies? Transformation, release, this is actually the biggest problem facing.

Roundtable Forum 1: How does privacy computing play a "useful role" in the industry
Ma Huimin, convener of the Yangtze River Delta Big Data Industry Cooperation Joint Conference and deputy general manager of Shanghai Shibei High-tech Co., Ltd., believes that privacy computing and blockchain can be completely independent, but when data is used as an asset to realize value Both technologies are required to come together to form a new solution.

4 The first industry wind vane, the 2020 Top 30 Privacy Computing Industry List Released
On the forum, the computing power think tank also brought together a review committee composed of top cryptography and computing security experts at home and abroad to jointly release the list of "2020 Top 30 Privacy Computing Industry". Adhering to the concept of "data service industry, data urgently need efficiency, computing brings change", this selection is the first time in China to output a set of professional and authoritative privacy computing [good company, good model, good scene] evaluation system. This will provide a perspective and standard to help traditional enterprises, investment institutions, and government organizations understand the industry ecology and development trends of privacy computing, select high-quality solution partners, and support the sustainable development of projects and teams with excellent investment.
