Kalshi Files to Launch US Single-Stock Perpetual Contracts, Proposal Still Awaiting CFTC Approval
Odaily News: Prediction market platform Kalshi has applied to launch perpetual contracts linked to US individual stocks and has submitted a proposed rule change filing to the US SEC, while also submitting the related proposal to the CFTC for approval. It has not yet been approved.
According to the proposal, the contracts would have no predetermined expiration date and would use periodic funding rate payments between long and short positions to keep the contract price aligned with the underlying stock price. Kalshi said the product would be treated as a securities futures product and cleared through its CFTC-registered clearinghouse, KalshiKlear.
On the same day, Coinbase also submitted a related proposal to launch perpetual contracts on US individual stocks.
