New whale realized market cap share rises to 33.06%, aggregate cost basis recovers to around $77,000

Odaily reports: Analyst MorenoDV stated that as of October 15, new whales hold $78.61 billion in realized market cap, accounting for 33.06% of the total whale realized market cap; old whales hold $159.15 billion. This share is higher than approximately 18% at the beginning of 2026, reflecting an increase in the realized market cap weight of new whales within the whale group, but it does not represent their share of Bitcoin supply holdings. Since September, the realized market cap of new whales has continued to rise, while the realized market cap of old whales has generally remained stable. The aggregate cost basis of new whales has dropped from approximately $110,000 near the previous peak to approximately $68,000 at the end of August, and subsequently recovered to approximately $77,000.
