The secondment period has expired or is about to expire; it remains unclear whether Patrick Witt will continue serving on the White House cryptocurrency council
Odaily report: A Fox Business crypto reporter posted on X that over the past week they emailed the White House three times asking whether Patrick Witt still serves as Executive Director of the White House cryptocurrency council, but received no response; Witt declined to comment.
A person familiar with the matter said Witt is a U.S. Department of Defense employee currently serving at the White House cryptocurrency council on a temporary secondment basis, and that his secondment period has expired or is about to expire, with it still unclear whether it will be renewed. Earlier this year, Witt postponed his service in the Georgia National Guard and is expected to resume service. After Deputy Director HarryYJung left at the end of July and David Sacks' term as head of cryptocurrency and AI affairs ended earlier this year, Witt became the only remaining staff member of the council.
