Strategy holds 842,138 BTC valued at approximately $55 billion; Saylor posts "Doing Business"

Odaily Planet Daily News Michael Saylor, Executive Chairman of digital asset treasury company Strategy, posted a Bitcoin holdings chart on X on August 9, captioned "Doing Business." Strategy holds 842,138 BTC on its books, worth approximately $55 billion on the morning of August 9; the company has disclosed four sales since June 22, with no purchases disclosed.

Strategy's chart shows its average Bitcoin acquisition cost is $75,653 per coin, with unrealized losses of approximately $9.051 billion. Strategy's dashboard shows that as of 10:06 a.m. that day, total reserves, including $4 billion in cash, stood at $5.889 billion, with the Bitcoin portion valued at approximately $54.9 billion and an average cost basis of $75,419 per coin.

Strategy filed documents with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) on August 3, disclosing the sale of 1,638 BTC between July 27 and August 2, for approximately $104.73 million, at an average price of $63,957 per coin. The company also sold 2,225 BTC, 1,363 BTC, and 32 BTC on July 6, June 30, and June 1, respectively, and repurchased 912,143 shares of STRC for $81.2 million.
