CryptoQuant founder: Self-custody is not necessarily the safest option

Even during periods when banks were robbed weekly, people still stored gold there, because a home safe without professional knowledge does not equal security — it is just a treasure chest with a label. Even if everyone learned self-custody, it would not necessarily prevail. When problems arise, people need someone to hold accountable, and self-custody cannot provide that — which is also why not everyone uses DEXs. Self-custody is not the safest option; the safest option is the one users can actually handle.
