Iranian Parliament Speaker: Being Prepared for War is Necessary for Effective Negotiations
Odaily Planet Daily News On June 30, local time, Iran's chief negotiator and parliament speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf stated in an interview that Iran is determined to uphold the memorandum of understanding, but if the US refuses to implement the consensus, Iran is prepared for war. Ghalibaf said that negotiating with the US is not like talking to a friend, but negotiating with an enemy that has no credibility. As long as there is an opportunity, the US will surely strike Iran again. Therefore, only by being prepared for war can a negotiation be conducted well.
In addition, Ghalibaf also dismissed claims during the interview that "Iran's unfrozen funds can only be used to purchase US agricultural products." He stated that this is "completely inaccurate" and that according to the memorandum of understanding, Iran has the right to dispose of the unfrozen funds at its own discretion.
