MetaMask launches self-custodial account Money Account

Odaily Planet Daily News MetaMask has announced the launch of a new self-custodial account, "Money Account," which integrates stablecoin yields, payment spending, and trading functions into a single wallet system, further driving its transformation into a comprehensive financial platform. The product is released by Consensys, built on the Monad blockchain, with the core asset being the U.S. dollar-pegged stablecoin mUSD. Users can earn up to approximately 4% variable annualized yield while holding assets, with funds automatically allocated to decentralized lending protocols such as Morpho, with additional access to Aave planned for the future.

Unlike traditional DeFi products, this account does not require manual transfers of funds between protocols; yields take effect automatically once deposited and can be directly used for trading functions such as token swaps, perpetual contracts, and prediction markets. (CoinDesk)
