U.S.-Iran Agreement to Be Signed Online, Strait of Hormuz to Open Immediately After Signing
Odaily News According to CCTV News, U.S. President Donald Trump stated on June 13 local time that the United States and Iran are scheduled to sign an agreement on June 14, and the Strait of Hormuz will open immediately after the signing. Pakistan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement on the 13th, saying that Pakistan's Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Dar had a phone call with Saudi Foreign Minister Faisal that same day. The electronic signing ceremony for the related agreement between the United States and Iran is set to take place on the 14th. However, the Iranian side indicated that the specific signing time for the memorandum still requires waiting.
Insiders revealed that U.S. officials and mediators from multiple countries confirmed that the signing will be conducted online, mainly due to logistical and scheduling considerations. A key reason is the scheduling conflict of Vice President Vance, who leads the U.S. negotiating team. Although Vance led the negotiations, attending an in-person signing ceremony would prevent him from returning to the U.S. before Trump departs for France on the 14th to attend the G7 summit. Therefore, to ensure a smooth transition in core U.S. schedules, all parties ultimately decided to adopt the online signing format. (Red Star News)
