前纽约联储主席杜德利:通胀多年未达标,美联储信誉面临风险
Odaily Planet Daily News: Former New York Fed President William Dudley warned that the Federal Reserve's credibility as an "inflation fighter" is at risk of being lost, given its long-standing failure to meet its 2% inflation target. "We have been above the Fed's inflation target for over five years now," Dudley said. "There is a risk that inflation expectations could eventually become unanchored."
His comments underscore the challenges facing newly appointed Fed Chairman Kevin Warsh. Warsh takes the helm of the Fed as the Consumer Price Index (CPI) recorded its largest single-month gain since 2023 and following former President Trump's sustained and fierce criticism of Powell for not easing monetary policy. Dudley believes that Warsh's appointment, coupled with Trump's pressure for rate cuts, further exacerbates the credibility challenge facing the Fed. (Jinshi Data)
