Brazilian police seized 1,400 Bitcoin mining machines suspected of electricity theft

Odaily Planet Daily News: Police in São Paulo, Brazil, conducted operations in Jundiaí and Luveira, seizing approximately 1,400 Bitcoin mining devices that were operating in violation. These devices were powered by 9 transformers totaling 8,470 kVA and are suspected of stealing electricity.
Preliminary estimates indicate that the related activities involved the theft of about 2 GWh of electricity, an amount sufficient to power 2,000 households for a month. No arrests have been reported so far. (livecoins)
