Coinbase Bitcoin Premium Index Records 75 Consecutive Days of Negative Premium, Setting a New Longest Streak
Odaily Planet Daily News: The Coinbase Bitcoin Premium Index has been in negative territory for 75 consecutive days (since May 19), with the latest reading at -0.0959%. Previously, the index recorded 40 consecutive days of negative premium from January 16 to February 24 this year, setting a record for the longest continuous negative premium streak since the index was launched, surpassing the approximately 30-day streak during the "1011 crash" period.
The Coinbase Bitcoin Premium Index measures the difference between the Bitcoin price on Coinbase and the global market average price. A negative premium typically reflects stronger selling pressure in the U.S. market, declining investor risk appetite, rising market safe-haven sentiment, or capital outflows.
