Aave Founder: Delisting Low-Adoption Assets and Networks Does Not Indicate a Bearish View on Any L1 or L2

2026-07-30 11:34

Aave founder Stani Kulechov posted on X, stating that Aave's recent delisting of low-adoption assets and gradual closure of some networks should not be interpreted as a stance on any L1 or L2. This move aims to reduce Aave's operational, technical, and economic risk exposure, concentrating resources on high-value market growth and more impactful businesses such as Securities Finance.

He also emphasized that L2s remain a crucial part of the Ethereum user experience, and Aave App's Stable Vaults already utilize L2s as a settlement layer. Additionally, networks like Avalanche play a significant role in bringing institutional-grade Real World Assets (RWA) on-chain.

Previously, Aave founder Stani Kulechov stated that after a comprehensive review, Aave will phase out 50 asset reserves with low adoption rates across multiple deployments.
