Trump Endorses Warsh While Criticizing Fed Committee, FOMC Sees Rare Policy Divergence in Nearly 50 Years

This marks the first time since 2016 that there have been three dissenting votes in the same direction, and it represents a rare large-scale internal policy disagreement during the early tenure of a new Fed chairman in nearly 50 years.

After the meeting, Warsh stated that if inflation remains persistently high and the job market stays robust, rate hikes could still be a policy option in the future. He emphasized that the Fed will not adjust policy based on market expectations.
