Odaily Planet Daily News: The National Association of Assistant United States Attorneys and the District Attorneys Association have sent a letter to the White House requesting modifications to the developer provisions in the Clarity Act, including ensuring that the developer guidelines "do not create, expand, or modify criminal liability under federal law." White House crypto advisor Patrick Witt responded that these modifications "are far from the administration's stance" and implied they "are not a productive outcome of negotiations." Senator Catherine Cortez Masto is pushing the White House to resolve the issue before a vote. The Clarity Act also faces opposition from Democrats regarding ethical clauses related to Trump's crypto investments. Senate Majority Leader John Thune has not yet scheduled a vote, having previously indicated that the bill is unlikely to pass before the August recess.
