SK Hynix Q2 Operating Profit 60.5 Trillion KRW, Revenue Misses Expectations, Down Over 3% in After-Hours Trading
Odaily SK Hynix reported its second-quarter earnings, with an operating profit of 60.5 trillion KRW, below the market expectation of 64 trillion KRW; revenue stood at 79 trillion KRW, below the market expectation of 84 trillion KRW.
The company stated that the average selling price of DRAM in the second quarter rose approximately 30% compared to the first quarter, and it expects DRAM shipments in the third quarter to increase by about 10% quarter-over-quarter, while also expanding HBM4 supply in the second half of the year.
SK Hynix forecasts that DRAM market demand in 2026 will grow by 20%-30% year-over-year, and NAND market demand will grow by 10%-20% year-over-year. The company also plans to increase capital expenditure in 2026 to the upper range of 40 trillion KRW.
Affected by the revenue miss, SK Hynix's U.S. stock turned to a decline of over 3% in after-hours trading. The company said it has signed long-term chip supply agreements with 10 clients and is evaluating additional shareholder return measures.
