Visa reported $11.6 billion in fiscal Q3 revenue, disclosing stablecoin platform and OpenUSD plans

2026-07-28 22:05
Odaily Planet Daily News: Payment company Visa reported Q3 fiscal 2025 revenue of $11.6 billion, up 14% year-over-year, driven by double-digit growth in payments volume, cross-border transaction volume, and processed transactions. The company stated that cross-border transaction volume increased 13% year-over-year, or 12% excluding intra-European transactions, while processed transaction volume grew 10%.

During the earnings call, Visa indicated it is investing across multiple layers of the stablecoin ecosystem, covering blockchain, issuance, wallets, infrastructure, orchestration, and applications. The company noted progress during the quarter in both the issuance and application layers.

Visa has joined the OpenStandard Alliance, which plans to issue an OpenUSD stablecoin for global fund flows. Visa's stablecoin platform aims to support partners in settling with Visa using stablecoins, providing on-chain wallet-as-a-service infrastructure and facilitating transfers between fiat currency and stablecoins, initially starting with OpenUSD.

The platform will also integrate with Pismo to support tokenized deposits for financial institutions, and plans to incorporate third-party tokenized deposit infrastructure providers in the future. Visa also stated that stablecoins and AI are complementary technologies, and that agentic commerce will expand its addressable market and drive future growth.
