Odaily: One year after the CLARITY Act passed the U.S. House of Representatives, the bill has yet to advance through the Senate. Representatives held a hearing on July 17 at Federal Hall National Memorial in New York to discuss how the bill can establish clearer rules for the digital asset market.
House Majority Whip Tom Emmer noted that nearly 80 Democrats joined Republicans in passing the CLARITY Act, yet the Senate has not made measurable progress. Participants in the hearing included representatives from Nova Labs, Bullish, WisdomTree, and Coin Center.
House Financial Services Committee Chairman French Hill stated that while the GENIUS Act and laws supporting U.S. dollar-backed stablecoins exist, the lack of a market structure bill leaves the digital asset ecosystem without a comprehensive rule framework to support its operation. Senator Cynthia Lummis indicated on July 14 that the Senate version of the CLARITY Act is ready, with the bill text to be released within days.
