阿曼:通过霍尔木兹海峡的船舶可能需支付费用
Odaily Odaily Planet Daily News According to informed sources, Oman has informed European officials that the Strait of Hormuz cannot return to its pre-war state, and transiting ships may be required to pay certain fees. Sources said Omani officials stated they would always comply with international maritime law, but added that fees may be associated with services related to pollution clean-up in the strait or ship navigation. It remains unclear whether Oman has indicated that all such fees are mandatory.
According to insiders, Oman is analyzing fee systems used at global chokepoints, including the Strait of Malacca in Asia, where there are currently no mandatory shipping charges. Meanwhile, concerns are growing among the United States, Europe, and Oman's Gulf neighbors that Oman may establish a fee system for the Strait of Hormuz jointly with Iran. (Jin Shi)
