Trump: I Don’t Want to Be Another Hoover, Reaching a Deal Is to Avoid Economic Collapse

Odaily News U.S. President Trump spoke on Wednesday after the G7 summit in France, defending the agreement reached between the U.S. and Iran and stating that he does not want to see the Middle East conflict persist, which could trigger an economic catastrophe. Speaking at the French lakeside resort of Evian-les-Bains, Trump said: “One thing I want least is an economic disaster. If this conflict continues, it is entirely possible.” Trump added that he does not want to become another Herbert Hoover. In October 1929, when the U.S. stock market crashed, Hoover was serving as U.S. President.
