Iranian negotiating team advisor reveals details of proposed memorandum of understanding
According to a report by Iran's Fars News Agency on the 14th, Mehdi Mohammadi, strategic advisor to the head of the Iranian negotiating team, disclosed some details of the proposed memorandum of understanding between Iran and the United States, covering topics such as ceasefire arrangements, asset unfreezing, sanctions relief, and subsequent nuclear deal negotiations.
The report stated that the first point is the cessation of conflict and security guarantees. This involves a comprehensive halt to military operations against Iran and Lebanon, and preventing any new military actions. At the same time, the U.S. side must provide necessary assurances to prevent a resurgence of tensions.
Second, the process of unfreezing some of Iran's frozen assets will begin, along with the suspension of some economic restrictions and sanctions, in order to create conditions for expanding economic exchanges and oil sales.
Third, the lifting of maritime and trade restrictions to restore Iran's maritime trade to a normal state, facilitate the passage of Iranian commercial vessels, reduce maritime restrictions, and remove existing obstacles on international transport routes. (Xinhua News Agency)
