英国改革党领袖因加密货币投资人500万英镑赠款调查而缩减媒体活动

2026-06-13 04:03

Odaily reported that Nigel Farage, leader of the UK Reform Party, has scaled back his public media appearances in recent weeks amid a parliamentary investigation into his failure to declare a £5 million (approximately $6.4 million) donation from cryptocurrency billionaire Christopher Harborne ahead of the 2024 general election.

Data shows that Nigel Farage held 20 press conferences in the first four months of this year, but only one in May after the undeclared donation was revealed on April 29. Critics have pointed out that the Reform Party announced several crypto-friendly policies after the election, including plans to reduce the capital gains tax rate on crypto assets from 24% to 10% and establish a national Bitcoin reserve at the Bank of England. After the UK Parliamentary Commissioner for Standards announced an investigation into the matter, the Reform Party removed a digital financial draft document from its website at the end of May. (FT)
