Odaily Planet Daily News Ethereum developers are evaluating EIP-8182, a proposal that plans to introduce native privacy transfers for ETH and ERC-20 tokens via the Hegotá hard fork. The proposal was created on March 3, 2026, by Facet co-founder Tom Lehman and is classified as a Draft Standards Track Core EIP. It has not yet been finalized or scheduled for inclusion in an upgrade.
Hegotá is the next upgrade following Glamsterdam and is expected to focus on infrastructure and protocol-layer improvements. The core of EIP-8182 is to create a canonical shielded pool system contract at the protocol layer, where users can deposit ETH or ERC-20 tokens and spend them using zero-knowledge proofs.
