Over $500,000 in assets stolen, attacker used fake Uniswap-related ENS names to carry out arbitrage bot scam
Odaily reports — According to on-chain detective Specter, the attacker in this campaign provided so-called arbitrage bot tutorials and code through YouTube videos, and guided victims to compile and deploy contracts using a counterfeit Remix development interface. The attacker registered ENS names containing "Uniswap" and disguised the related addresses as incoming sources of legitimate DeFi activity, making victims believe that the deployed arbitrage bot was profiting through Uniswap. After victims injected their own assets into the contract, the funds were transferred away by the attacker. The attacker appears to still be active and holds a considerable portion of the stolen funds in two addresses.
