Odaily Planet Daily News A South Korean government official said on Friday that South Korea and the United States are discussing Korean companies' semiconductor investments in the U.S. within the broader framework of bilateral consultations. When asked whether the chip tariff plan previously disclosed by U.S. Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick is affecting the ongoing investment negotiations between the two countries, the official said: "There are various issues between South Korea and the U.S., and sometimes these issues affect each other."
He added that semiconductor investment is one of the investment-related topics being discussed by both sides. "We are working to prevent these issues from hindering each other." (Jin Shi)
