Odaily News: Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Gharibabadi said in an interview on August 25 that Iran remains in a state of war, and the Strait of Hormuz is under the full control and surveillance of the Iranian Armed Forces. It will not reopen unless Iran agrees, approves, and arranges for it. Gharibabadi also warned that, in defense of national security and national interests, if conditions are appropriate, Iran can take "preemptive" action against U.S. targets, without having to wait for the United States to attack first before defending itself.
