The Sandbox confirms SAND cross-chain bridge vulnerability, cross-chain functionality on Base and BSC networks has been suspended
Odaily Planet Daily News The Sandbox officially stated that it has confirmed and contained the SAND cross-chain bridge vulnerability incident. Through the vulnerability, attackers minted unbacked SAND on the Base and BSC networks, with the amount of tokens involved being less than 0.01% of the total SAND supply. SAND on the Ethereum and Polygon networks is unaffected, and user wallets have not been compromised.
Currently, The Sandbox has suspended the SAND cross-chain functionality on the Base and BSC networks and isolated the affected SAND, which cannot be transferred or exchanged for the time being. The official reminds users not to trade SAND on the aforementioned networks for now, and stated that a compensation plan for affected LP users is being formulated, with a full incident report to be released later.
