Iranian Foreign Minister: US Economic Pressure Campaign Against Iran Is "Doomed to Fail"

Odaily News – Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi stated on social media that the sanction and pressure policies adopted by successive US administrations against Iran have all ended in failure, and the latest US economic pressure campaign against Iran is likewise "doomed to fail." In his post, Araghchi reviewed a series of policies the US has implemented against Iran in recent years. He noted that 14 years ago, the US claimed to impose "the toughest sanctions in history" on Iran; 8 years ago, it pursued a policy of "maximum pressure"; and 5 months ago, it demanded Iran's "unconditional surrender" — all of which ultimately failed.

In response to US President Trump's recent announcement of what he described as "the most destructive economic action ever taken against a country" targeting Iran, Araghchi said this action is equally "doomed to fail." He also criticized that there has been no substantive change in the policies of successive US administrations toward Iran.
