Tom Lee warns of the risk of missing Bitcoin's "Best 10 Days": this week may have already become a key upside window

2026-08-21 15:16

Odaily Planet Daily News: Tom Lee posted on the X platform that investors waiting for the October crypto market bottom need to reassess the risk of market timing. He cited Fundstrat's "Rule of 10 Best Days" for Bitcoin, noting that Bitcoin's long-term gains are highly concentrated in a few trading days.

Tom Lee said that historical data shows that most of Bitcoin's gains come from the 10 best-performing trading days of the year. If holders miss these 10 days, their investment returns could drop significantly. Data shows that capturing Bitcoin's 10 best trading days yields cumulative returns of approximately 162%, while excluding these 10 trading days results in a return of -14%.

"This week has already become one of these 10 best trading days, so long-term investors should choose to hold (HODL) rather than trying to perfectly time the bottom," Tom Lee said.

He has repeatedly emphasized that frequent entry and exit from the market often causes investors to miss the most important upside phases. Fundstrat research also shows that market returns tend to be concentrated in a few extreme upside days, and waiting for a pullback before entering the market could lead to missing key market movements.
