Bitget launches $300 million "Project Archimedes" to provide special funding support for quantitative trading and asset management institutions

2026-08-12 10:02

Odaily Planet Daily News Bitget announced the launch of "Project Archimedes," establishing a special fund totaling $300 million to provide capital support for quantitative trading firms, asset management institutions, and market makers. The initiative consists of two sub-programs: a $100 million "Capital Support Program" focused on supporting emerging and growing quantitative firms adopting market-neutral strategies, and a $200 million "Interest-Free Lending Program" designed for institutions with mature strategies and a certain trading scale, where eligible institutions meeting corresponding trading volume or position standards can access interest-free capital to reduce financing costs and expand strategy scale.

Bitget CEO Gracy Chen stated that as institutional trading competition intensifies, capital, execution efficiency, and risk control are becoming key factors in whether strategies can achieve scale. Project Archimedes aims to help teams with mature capabilities expand their strategy scale through capital support, with expectations of supporting more than 50 projects within the next six months. Additionally, leveraging Bitget's Unified Trading Account (UTA), institutions can use rToken spot positions as derivatives margin, maintaining both tokenized stock exposure and futures strategies simultaneously without needing cross-account transfers, further improving capital efficiency.

Project Archimedes will adopt a long-term cooperation framework, implementing rolling admission and phased deployment, with periodic disclosures of progress including the number of participating institutions, capital deployment scale, and strategy distribution.
