Goldman Sachs sharply raises its forecasts for AI server PCB and CCL, with the market size expected to reach $84 billion and $48 billion by 2028

Odaily Planet Daily News: In its latest global printed circuit board (PCB) and copper-clad laminate (CCL) industry report, Goldman Sachs has significantly raised its market size forecasts for artificial intelligence (AI) servers. The bank expects the global AI server PCB market to reach $37.5 billion by 2027, an upward revision of 38% from its previous forecast, and further increase to $84 billion by 2028; the CCL market is projected to reach $22.1 billion by 2027, an upward revision of 18%, and is expected to grow to $48 billion by 2028. This implies that from 2026 to 2028, the compound annual growth rates for the AI server PCB and CCL markets will reach 148% and 161%, respectively.

Unlike traditional server cycles, this round of growth is driven not only by increased server shipments, but also by multiple factors including higher PCB layer counts, greater penetration of advanced HDI (high-density interconnect), upgrades in CCL materials, and increased PCB usage within entire server racks.
