Odaily Planet Daily News: Abbas Godarzi, spokesperson for the Iranian Parliament's presiding committee, stated that after more than a month of negotiations, Iran and Oman are close to finalizing a new shipping arrangement agreement for the Strait of Hormuz. The proposed statement includes adjustments to shipping routes through the Strait.

In addition, Godarzi also stated that the negotiations were conducted solely between Iran and Oman, and the United States was not allowed to participate. Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister Garibabadi said on the 5th that the agreement between Iran and Oman on the passage of commercial vessels through the Strait of Hormuz is close to being finalized, at which point both the northern waterway controlled by Iran and the southern waterway near Oman will be closed.
