Tom Lee responds to slowdown in ETH purchases: Due to large-scale stock buybacks, the purchasing pace remains unchanged

2026-07-20 12:51

Odaily News, Bitmine Chairman Tom Lee stated that due to a large-scale stock buyback conducted during the same period, the pace of Bitmine's recent ETH purchases has slowed. However, since the launch of the ETH Treasury Strategy on June 30, 2025, the company has maintained a weekly buying rhythm for ETH. Bitmine repurchased approximately 5.5 million common shares last week at an average repurchase price of $15.6156 per share. This stock buyback is expected to help enhance shareholder value. Additionally, Bitmine's self-operated staking business generated a yield of 2.67% (annualized) over the past seven days, and the company will continue to strengthen its digital asset treasury strategy by expanding its ETH reserve scale and staking returns.

Currently, Bitmine holds approximately 5.78 million ETH, of which about 4.9 million ETH has been staked, accounting for 85% of its total ETH holdings. The estimated annualized revenue from the current Ethereum staking business is approximately $247 million. (PRNewswire)
