Korean media: Samsung and SK Group expected to announce investment plan of up to 2,000 trillion won (approximately $1.3 trillion)

According to a report by South Korea's Economic Daily on Monday, as part of President Lee Jae-myung's flagship industrial strategy, Samsung Group and SK Group are preparing to announce a plan to invest a total of up to 2,000 trillion won (approximately $1.3 trillion) over the next decade. The report stated that Samsung and SK Hynix are expected to build four to five semiconductor factories each in the Gwangju region.

The report added that Samsung also plans to build a chip packaging plant in South Chungcheong Province, while SK Hynix will expand its NAND factory in North Chungcheong Province. (Jin Shi)
