Sentient Foundation Commits $42 Million to Advance Open-Source General AI Development

Odaily Planet Daily News: The Sentient Foundation has announced the launch of a funding and investment program for open-source general AI, committing $42 million specifically to support developers, researchers, and enterprises building and applying general AI in an open manner.

This program combines non-dilutive grants with investments to ensure AI infrastructure, models, tools, and applications remain open and accessible. The initiative has already received support from Alibaba Cloud, Franklin Templeton, Princeton University, and the Indian Institute of Science, among others. Applications are now open and will be reviewed on a rolling basis.
