Odaily Planet Daily News: According to Cambodian media reports, 53-year-old Chinese real estate company boss Yang Weixin was kidnapped by three suspects in the parking lot of an apartment in Phnom Penh on the evening of May 29.
At 3 a.m. on May 30, the suspects used the victim's phone to send a message to his wife, demanding a $2 million cryptocurrency ransom. Because the family failed to pay, the suspects beat and suffocated the victim. At 11 a.m. that day, the victim's body was found in the back seat of a Toyota Prius in a wasteland in Langge District. After sending a final message at nearly 9 a.m. saying "That's it," the suspects lost contact. Police have launched an investigation. (kohsantepheapdaily)
