Two giants take a break, Japanese food brand DayDayCook unexpectedly becomes the largest BTC buyer this week
Odaily Planet Daily News According to SoSoValue data, as of 8:00 AM Eastern Time on May 25, 2026, the total net BTC purchases by global publicly listed companies (excluding mining companies) in the past week amounted to $17.38 million, a decrease of 99.14% compared to the previous week.
Strategy (formerly MicroStrategy) did not purchase any Bitcoin last week.
Japanese publicly listed company Metaplanet did not purchase any Bitcoin last week.
Additionally, two other companies purchased Bitcoin last week. Japanese food brand DayDayCook announced on May 21 that it spent $15.899 million to purchase 200 Bitcoins at a price of $79,496, bringing its total holdings to 2,583 Bitcoins; British Bitcoin company The Smarter Web Company announced on May 21 that it invested $1.48 million to purchase 19 Bitcoins at a price of $77,687, bringing its total holdings to 2,859 Bitcoins.
As of press time, the global publicly listed companies (excluding mining companies) included in the statistics collectively hold a total of 1,114,060 Bitcoins, an increase of 0.02% compared to last week, with a current market value of approximately $86.03 billion, accounting for 5.6% of Bitcoin's circulating market capitalization.
