Iranian Foreign Ministry: US Violated Ceasefire Agreement

Odaily Planet Daily News The Iranian Foreign Ministry stated in a statement on Tuesday that the US launch of an attack in Iran's southern Hormozgan province constitutes a violation of the ceasefire agreement. On Monday, the US military carried out strikes in southern Iran targeting vessels attempting to lay mines and missile launch positions; the US side characterized these actions as defensive measures.

Iranian media reported earlier on Tuesday that explosions were heard in the port city of Bandar Abbas in the province. In its statement, the Iranian Foreign Ministry said: "In the past 48 hours, the United States has seriously violated the ceasefire agreement in the Hormozgan region... Iran demands that the US authorities bear responsibility for all consequences arising from such aggressive and unjustified acts." (Jin Shi)
