Trump Media & Technology Group scales back prediction market plans; "Truth Predict" may shift from trading platform to marketing partnership model
Odaily Planet Daily News: Trump Media & Technology Group is significantly adjusting its strategy for the prediction market product "Truth Predict". The project, originally planned to launch full trading functionality in partnership with Crypto.com, may now only be presented in the form of marketing and promotional collaborations, with the scale of its functional implementation notably reduced.
According to the latest regulatory filings, the project is still under development but will initially be limited to promotional partnerships with the prediction market platform OG.com, rather than embedding trading functions directly within Truth Social. The market's previously envisioned "social + prediction market trading integration" model appears to be weakened.
Early plans indicated that Truth Predict had intended to allow users to convert platform points into crypto assets and participate in trading events such as sports, inflation, and elections. However, the newly disclosed structure is closer to an "external platform traffic-driving partnership," with specific commercial mechanisms yet to be clarified. Meanwhile, the prediction market industry continues to experience rapid expansion amid regulatory conflicts. Platforms including Kalshi and Polymarket are persistently expanding their sports and event contract offerings, but are also facing jurisdictional disputes between state-level gaming regulators and federal authorities.
Analysts believe that the strategic contraction of Truth Predict reflects rising uncertainty within the prediction market regarding compliance structures, product forms, and regulatory boundaries. Against the backdrop of a still-fragmented US regulatory system, related products are increasingly leaning towards a "light-asset partnership" model rather than direct financial integration into social platforms.
