Iranian Lawmaker: Iran Has Formed a Comprehensive Plan for Managing the Strait of Hormuz
According to a report by Iran's Mehr News Agency on the 25th, Iranian Parliament member Behnam Saeedi stated that Iran has formed a comprehensive plan for managing the Strait of Hormuz. In an interview with Mehr News Agency, Saeedi said an important aspect of the plan is that only the name "Persian Gulf" will be recognized in all correspondence and commercial documents, and no other names will be accepted. Ships and vessels navigating in the region must obtain permission from Iran. The sovereignty of the Strait of Hormuz will be completely in the hands of Iran. He also stated that ships deemed as hostile countries by the Supreme National Security Council or the General Staff of the Armed Forces will not be allowed to pass through the Strait of Hormuz, and Israeli ships are absolutely prohibited from passing through the area. Vessels passing through the region must pay relevant fees for matters such as security, environmental protection, maritime management, and the issuance of permits, with priority given to payment in Rials.
